About Escala

Escala tells you what a guidebook can’t: how a culture is lived, through its music, its table and its people.

We are an independent digital magazine of travel, art, music and food that connects Korea and the Spanish-speaking world. We don’t compare destinations: we look for what two cultures share, told from the inside by the people who live them.

Every journey has its rhythm

Our tagline is also our editorial test. Every story has a tempo (Lento, Andante or Allegro) and a soundtrack, so you choose not only where to travel, but how to live it.

What you’ll find

  • Destinations: routes, cities and the Camino, places where two cultures meet.
  • Gallery: museums, exhibitions and artists.
  • Stages: festivals, live music and scenes that connect people without a shared language.
  • Table: food, coffee and wine as memory and identity.

Our formats

  • Espejo (Mirror): one subject, seen from Korea and from Spain.
  • Voces (Voices): the people behind the places, in their own words.
  • Banda sonora (Soundtrack): a playlist with every issue.

How we work

Every story is reported on the ground, dated and checked. We are independent: we don’t publish paid reviews, and invitations, press trips and sponsored content are always disclosed.

We publish one issue every season, in Spanish and English, with selected stories in Korean. The first, Corea y el Camino (Korea and the Camino), arrives in winter 2027.

Escala is edited by Iani Osgueritchian. Want to pitch a story or work with us? Write to editor@escalamag.com.
