This first issue is born between two roads: the one thousands of Korean pilgrims walk to Santiago, and the one that takes us to Seoul.

Escala is a magazine about what a guidebook doesn’t tell you: how a culture is lived, through its music, its table and its people. It was born to build a bridge between Korea and the Spanish-speaking world, not comparing destinations but looking for what two cultures share.

In 2027, a Xacobeo Holy Year, we begin with the Camino. Our first issue, Corea y el Camino (Korea and the Camino), arrives this winter with ten stories between Seoul and Santiago, told at their own rhythm.

What’s coming

  • Why this Holy Year matters to Korean pilgrims.
  • Seoul at three tempos: Lento, Andante and Allegro.
  • An Espejo between Jeonju and Burgos, two cities that understand each other at the table.
  • A night of live music in Seoul.

Every journey has its rhythm. This is the beginning of ours.
